Cybersecurity Development Programme (CSDP)

The Cybersecurity Development Programme (CSDP) is a 15-month development programme that equips recent graduates and mid-career professionals with cybersecurity skills and knowledge. The programme’s aim is to effectively build the cybersecurity capabilities in the public sector and keep Singapore’s cyberspace safe and secure.

In the first three months, CSDP officers will undergo classroom training with CSA Academy, the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Ngee Ann Polytechnic*. Thereafter, they will be deployed to one of CSA’s divisions or partner agencies for a 12-month job posting.

* Training may be subject to change.

The classroom training phase will see the CSDP officers acquiring industry certifications, such as EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (including CEH Masters) and Cisco’s Cyber Ops Associate. CSDP officers will also be required to take modules under SUTD and will receive the SUTD ModularMaster Certificate in Cybersecurity upon completing the 15-month development programme. In addition, CSDP officers will undergo soft skills training to further hone their stakeholder management and communication skills.

CSDP officers will be given the opportunity** to acquire hands-on experience in one of the below areas for 12 months (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Malware Analysis
  • Digital Forensic & Incident Response
  • Emerging Technologies
  • Penetration Testing
  • Cybersecurity Solutions and Consultancy
  • Cybersecurity Operations Centre
  • Threat Intelligence
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance

**Further assessment(s) may be required in order to determine the officer’s suitability for the first job posting, factoring in each officer’s interest and the cybersecurity needs across the Whole-Of-Government (WOG). Due consideration will be taken on a case-by-case basis and the final decision on the first job posting will be at CSA’s discretion.
