One of the foundational enablers of the Singapore Cybersecurity Strategy is to grow a robust cyber talent pipeline. The Advanced Youth Cyber Exploration Programme (A.YCEP), a continuation of Youth Cyber Exploration Programme (YCEP), is a key initiative under CSA’s SG Cyber Youth. A.YCEP was launched in 2020, targeted at pre-tertiary students with existing cybersecurity knowledge as they continue their journey in cybersecurity.
A.YCEP is a cybersecurity bootcamp designed to provide an immersive experience for students, enabling them to deepen their skills and to apply them in challenging scenarios. This programme is open to secondary to pre-tertiary students with a fundamental understanding of cybersecurity. In addition to YCEP, students who have participated in cybersecurity training bootcamps organised by various agencies and industry partners, such as Cisco (Cisco Youth Cyber Challenge), SMU (Whitehacks), DSTA (Cyber Defender Discovery Camp), HTX (Cyber Investigators' Challenge) and CSIT (Cyberthon), are also welcome to participate.
The A.YCEP March 2024 edition was organised by CSA in partnership with NUS Greyhats, Bakkhos Labs, and Horangi Cyber Security, with support from the National Cybersecurity R&D Lab. The training and Capture-The-Flag (CTF) qualifiers were held physically at the NUS School of Computing. The CTF final took place on-site at the ASEAN-Singapore Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence on 16 March 2024.
