The Singapore Cyber Youth Programme, or SG Cyber Youth, is a national programme designed to guide youths in their cybersecurity journey. Led by CSA, in collaboration with partners from the cybersecurity industry and academia, the programme reaches out to students from secondary to tertiary levels. The programme provides them with opportunities to explore cybersecurity as a career, and exposure to relevant technical knowledge and soft skills.

A key initiative under the SG Cyber Youth is the Youth Cyber Exploration Programme (YCEP) boot camp, which CSA started with Singapore Polytechnic in 2018. In 2019, all five local polytechnics came on board, hosting 400 students from over 30 secondary schools. The top 60 students from these boot camps took part in the inaugural YCEP Central Capture-the-flag (CTF) Competition on 29 June 2019.  Moving forward, CSA intends to reach out to more students through YCEP. CSA plans to reach out to 10,000 youths over the next three years through training boot camps, competitions, learning journeys and career mentoring sessions.

Existing initiatives such as the Student Volunteer & Recognition Programme, the Cybersecurity Career Mentoring Programme, and Cybersecurity Learning Journeys are also part of SG Cyber Youth. Students can look forward to participating in more of such learning journeys curated by CSA, in partnership with MOE and industry partners.

The SG Cyber Youth Odyssey is a new initiative under SG Cyber Youth programme. The programme – one of SG Cyber Talent’s programmes under Foundational Enabler 2: Grow a Robust Talent Pipeline of the Singapore Cybersecurity Strategy 2021 – targets youths to excite and guide them towards a future career on cybersecurity through training boot camps, competitions, learning journeys, career mentoring sessions and school talks.

New SG Cyber Youth initiatives to groom cybersecurity talent and encourage community partnerships will be announced soon.

Report a Cybersecurity Incident

SingCERT encourages the reporting of cybersecurity incidents as it enables us to better understand the scope and nature of cyber incidents in Singapore. This will enable us to issue alerts or advisories on relevant threats, and assist a broader range of individuals and organisations.
