Singapore and Germany today signed a Joint Declaration on strengthening cybersecurity cooperation in conjunction with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s official visit to Berlin, Germany.

The Joint Declaration was signed by Mr David Koh, Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), and Dr. Thomas Fitschen, Director of International Cyber Policy, German Federal Foreign Office (FFO). The signing ceremony was held at the FFO.

The Joint Declaration covers cybersecurity cooperation in key areas including regular information exchanges, joint training and research; and sharing of best practices to promote innovation in cybersecurity. Both parties also commit to promote voluntary norms of responsible state behaviour in cyberspace.

Mr Koh said, “The inking of this Declaration paves the way for mutual assistance and information sharing which will strengthen the cybersecurity landscape of both countries. We are also excited to be working together to promote voluntary norms of responsible state behaviour to support the security and stability of cyberspace.”

Prior to the signing of this Joint Declaration on cybersecurity cooperation with Germany, CSA had previously signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with France, India, the Netherlands, UK, the United States, and most recently Australia.
