Top Six Players from the Cybersecurity Challenge Singapore's Face-to-Face Competition to Compete at the UK Masterclass Final

Winners of the second Cybersecurity Challenge Singapore were announced at SICW 2018. Six top individual scorers won a trip to compete in the UK Masterclass after tackling tasks in digital forensics, incident response, and cryptomining.
1 Winners of the Face-to-Face (F2F) segment of the second Cybersecurity Challenge Singapore were announced today. Held during the Singapore International Cyber Week 2018, the F2F competition is co-organised by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and BAE Systems. 20 players were shortlisted based on their top scores on CyPhinx, an online game developed by Cyber Security Challenge UK.
2 The players were divided into six teams and amongst them were students, as well as mid-career professionals from industries such as healthcare and energy. Set around the theme of ‘Digital Forensics and Incident Response', players assume the role of cybersecurity consultants who were tasked to track funds stolen from a coin-mining operation and investigate a potential incident involving data exfiltration.
3 During the full day competition, players were graded by assessors from CSA, BAE Systems and Singtel as they displayed their cybersecurity knowledge in domains such as cryptomining, reverse engineering, and forensics analysis. The players then presented their findings to a panel of experts which comprised Mr Wong Choon Bong, Deputy Director (Ecosystem Development), CSA; Mr Tee Cheong Siang, Deputy Head (Technology Crime Investigation Branch), Singapore Police Force; Mr Wilson Tan, Director (Cyber Security Institute), Singtel and Mr Colin Robertson, Cyber Security Account Director, BAE Systems.
4 The six winners with the highest individual scores won an all-expenses paid trip to the United Kingdom (UK) to compete in the Masterclass Final from 24 to 26 November 2018.
