Singapore and the UK Commit to Work Together to Ensure a Secure Cyberspace

CSA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cyber Security Cooperation with the Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom to signal their commitment to work together to ensure a secure cyberspace that supports innovation as well as economic and social development for both countries.

The MOU was signed by CE/CSA, Mr David Koh, and UK National Security Adviser, Sir Nigel Kim Darroch at the Istana, witnessed by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and UK Prime Minister David Cameron. Minister-in-Charge of Cyber Security Dr Yaacob Ibrahim was also present at the Ceremony.

The agreement covers cooperation in four key areas, including cyber security incident response and cyber security talent development. There will also be joint cyber research and development collaboration between the UK and Singapore, with funding being doubled over three years, from S$2.5million to S$5.1 million. The specific deliverables under the four areas are being discussed, and will be finalised during the next UK-Singapore Cyber Dialogue.
