New Graduate Certificate in Hardware Security Evaluation and Certification

The CSA and NTU have launched a new Graduate Certificate in Hardware Security Evaluation and Certification to bolster Singapore’s cybersecurity ecosystem. Starting in Q1 2022, the SkillsFuture-funded program offers six courses on vulnerability assessment and hardware attacks. It utilizes NICE facilities to provide hands-on professional training for graduates and practitioners.

1              As part of the Government’s efforts to further grow Singapore’s cybersecurity testing and certification ecosystem, and provide opportunities for upskilling and reskilling in cybersecurity, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) has collaborated with the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) to launch a new Graduate Certificate in ‘Hardware Security Evaluation and Certification’. 

2              The programme will equip cybersecurity practitioners, professionals, and fresh engineering graduates with practical knowledge on topics such as security evaluation and certification, vulnerability assessment of hardware products, physical hardware attacks and their countermeasures. The programme will leverage the state-of-the-art facilities at the National Integrated Centre for Evaluation (NICE)1 to provide deep professional training on evaluation techniques.

3              The Graduate Certificate programme comprises six courses and will commence in Q1 2022. The courses will be delivered by NTU faculty members and CSA officers. The programme will qualify for SkillsFuture funding.

[1] NICE is a partnership between CSA and NTU that would serve as a one-stop facility for security evaluation and certification, including research in security techniques. The centre is scheduled to open officially in early 2022.
