CSA Launches the Cybersecurity Education and Learning Guidebook

      The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) has launched the "Cybersecurity Education and Learning Guidebook" which provides a comprehensive resource on cybersecurity education and talent programmes in Singapore. The launch was announced by Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information, at the Student Volunteer Recognition Programme (SVRP) Award Ceremony this evening. 

2.      As Singapore continues its digital transformation, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals continues to increase. Furthermore, there is a growing need to raise the quality of the cybersecurity workforce to meet the challenges brought about by ever-growing cyber threats. In consultation with government agencies, industry, professional bodies, and academia, CSA has developed the Guidebook to provide a comprehensive overview on industry trends, prospective pathways in cybersecurity and a structured learning roadmap for students, mid-career professionals, as well as employers, educators, and career counsellors.

3.      Students who are interested in exploring cybersecurity as a career can look forward to information on the latest courses as well as initiatives to build their technical skillsets, such as the availability of learning journeys, bootcamps, career mentoring programmes, and competitions. Educators and career counsellors can also refer to the Guidebook for insights on cybersecurity courses and certifications as well as career prospects to better advise their students and job-seeking clients. 

4.      To assist working professionals in their upskilling and reskilling efforts to enter the cybersecurity field, the Guidebook features an overview of various talent development programmes to meet their needs at every career stage. For instance, CSA’s Cybersecurity Strategic and Leadership Programme helps current and future cybersecurity leaders develop a deep understanding of key drivers that shape cybersecurity strategies and drive innovation, helping them lead cybersecurity functions in their organisations effectively. For experienced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) professionals that wish to join the cybersecurity industry, CSA is developing the Accelerated Conversion Programme (ACP), which aims to convert and transit them into suitable cybersecurity roles through On-the-Job training and classroom training. More details of the ACP will be shared by 1H 2025.  

5.      Employers who wish to be kept informed on the latest skills and competencies to meet business needs, the Guidebook covers details of SkillsFuture Singapore’s Skills Framework for Infocomm Technology and CSA’s Operational Technology Cybersecurity Competency Framework.

6.      CSA will refresh the Guidebook periodically to keep the content updated with new industry developments and talent initiatives. The Guidebook is available online on CSA’s website.
