Singapore renews Memorandum of Understanding with Australia to enhance on Cyber Security Cooperation.
The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cyber Security Cooperation on 24 February 2026.
The MoU was signed by Mr David Koh, Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Ms Jessica Hunter, Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) on 24 February 2026 at ASEAN-Singapore Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (ASCCE) during the sidelines of Australia-Singapore Cyber Dialogue. The renewal of the MoU is part of the deliverables under the Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) 2.0, which was announced on 8 October 2025, under Pillar 4 on Forging New Frontiers.
The renewed MoU aims to foster enhanced cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, with a focus on several key areas such as information exchange, joint cybersecurity exercises, training and education, sharing of best practices, promoting innovation, trade, and investment, as well as regional confidence-building and capacity-building measures. It will also expand the scope of cooperation to include information exchange and sharing on regulatory, policy, and operational developments, along with smart city services' experiences, risk management, and mutual recognition of cybersecurity labelling and certification schemes.
Singapore and Australia share mutual interests, and we recognise that there is a need to continue to work together to address an evolving cybersecurity landscape. This is the second time we have renewed the MoU on Cyber Security Cooperation between Singapore and Australia since 2017.
“We are proud to renew our partnership with Australia, as this Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant step forward in our shared commitment to advancing cybersecurity. As we face an increasingly complex and evolving digital landscape, it is essential that we work hand-in-hand to enhance cooperation, foster innovation, and strengthen our mutual defense against cyber threats.”
-David Koh, CE, CSA
“This partnership will not only promote information exchange and capacity-building but also support the development of best practices, trade, and investment. Together, Singapore and Australia are taking bold steps toward a safer, more resilient digital future for our nations and the world.”
-Jessica Hunter, Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
