CSA, in Partnership with IDA and MHA, is Proud to Present GovWare 2015!

The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), in partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), is proud to present the 24th GovernmentWare (GovWare) conference & exhibition. The event will be held from 6th to 8th October 2015 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Gracing the event as Guest-of-Honour is Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister in charge of Cyber Security.

The theme of this year’s conference is: “Building a Secure Smart Nation”.

The concept of Smart Nation for Singapore was introduced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong last year. One of the key objectives of Smart Nation is to harness the advantages of technology extensively and systematically to support better living for our people, create more opportunities for our businesses, and forge stronger communities. This will involve the development and deployment of Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies (such as a nationwide sensor network) as well as other smart technologies and new systems. It will also require the development of a safe and secure data marketplace, where data can be shared to spark innovation and add value to organisations and public. This will be a whole-of-nation effort, encompassing areas such as healthcare, aging, transport, homes and estates and others.

With our devices and systems becoming increasingly connected, cyber-attacks have also become more sophisticated, complex and difficult to detect. The attack surfaces have also increased significantly, posing greater risks to the systems which secure our personal information, support our public services and help regulate our daily lives.

It is no longer realistic and adequate for a single entity to rely on its own capabilities to defend against such cyber-attacks. Rather, it is imperative for everyone to work together to strengthen security measures against these cyber-attacks.
