Launch of the Ransomware Portal – A One-stop Access to Ransomware Related Resources

Published on 17 Oct 2023

The Police has developed a ransomware portal, in collaboration with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). The one-stop portal provides aid to ransomware victims seeking recovery support while providing organisations with access to ransomware related resources.  This was announced at the Singapore International Cyber Week 2023.

2      As ransomware continues to be a growing trend globally, the Counter Ransomware Task Force (CRTF) was set up to bring together agencies across Singapore to enhance our counter-ransomware efforts. In a report¹ published in November 2022, the CRTF recommended providing resources to victims to help recover from ransomware attacks.

3       In response to the recommendations, a one-stop portal was created to help victims of ransomware attacks and provide them with access to all ransomware-related resources. Soft launched on 6 September 2023, the portal allows victims to easily report ransomware cases. It also offers recovery support in the form of decryption tools, incident response checklists and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). In addition, the portal includes ransomware advisories, trends and prevention measures that can be adopted to avoid falling victim to ransomware attacks.

Report a Cybersecurity Incident

SingCERT encourages the reporting of cybersecurity incidents as it enables us to better understand the scope and nature of cyber incidents in Singapore. This will enable us to issue alerts or advisories on relevant threats, and assist a broader range of individuals and organisations.
