Cybersecurity Challenge SG is Back For its Second Edition

Published on 01 May 2018

As part of the efforts to address the shortfall of cybersecurity professionals in Singapore, CSA organised the Cybersecurity Challenge Singapore last year, a series of challenges and competition designed to inspire and spur cyber enthusiasts to join the cybersecurity profession. The first edition was a success, attracting over 770 players to register for the first stage of the challenge. This year, CSA will once again organise the second edition of the Challenge.

To participate in the Challenge, participants must first test their skills by completing the games on the Singapore floor in CyPhinx. CyPhinx is a virtual skyscraper where players can create avatars, access cybersecurity game challenges and interact with like-minded cybersecurity enthusiasts as well as demonstrate their skills to fellow players and potential employers. Scores will be captured as players complete the game challenges on cybersecurity disciplines such as forensics, vulnerability assessment and network security.

Top players from CyPhinx will then be invited to compete in a Face-to-Face competition where six top players will win career-enabling prizes and the chance to travel to UK to pit their skills against UK players in the Masterclass Final. Co-hosted by CSA and BAE Systems, the Face-to-Face competition this year will be held on Wednesday, 19 September during the Singapore International Cyber Week. Anyone who is a Singaporean or Permanent Resident and currently not in the cybersecurity field can take part in the Challenge! The four games available on the Singapore floor are 'The Enemy Within', 'Cyber-Tent', 'Whitehatters Webapp' and 'Pen-Ding'. The online qualifying period for the Cybersecurity Challenge SG 2018 will run from now till 1 August 2018.
